Getting rid of the half-pipe
I've spent a lot of time this past year being bold, stepping out, and frankly, I'm getting a little tired of it. Perhaps this is fortuitous given the fact that one of my current interests, NotManga, is on the shy side. He's creative, quirky and way too nice for me. An artist who can sew his own clothes and walks his own path. We've developed a rapport, but how do I indicate interest without resorting to the more blunt NotMiranda? Am I just asking for trouble liking a quiet guy? Girls (cough), if NotManga were to be present at any birthday celebration, I would be ok with that (cough).

Do what makes you happy. If that means trying out a new type of a guy, go for it!! I am going to be trying the same experiment this week also.
I think with him you need to establish the friend base first and then align the interests and then work it and reverse it.
I'm just saying that from what I can only guess, he seems like he'd want to know a person first. But that's just a guess.
The funny thing is, NotCarrie, that that is exactly what I've been doing. I hope my post didn't come across as my trying to jump right into something else. He's just the type that I'd even have trouble figuring out how to truly move a friendship forward.
Yeah, he's a tough case. I think you're going to need to frequent his section of the store;)
I honestly wouldn't know how to approach trying to be his friend. Maybe he could work there!
very interesante tu blog. y te espero en mi blog hombreblog.blogspot.com
too bad there's no boys allowed to your party, NotMiranda. We've discussed this numerous times.
Your birthday is for MANI/PEDIs, MAKEOVERS and doing research on SATC.
But I'll see what I can do.
the nice guy aspect is hawt, but you got to size up the situation up for what it really is. He is a tiger in the sack, but nice guys never make the first move.
you'll have to send him a signal or three.
start with stealing notcharlotte's panties and mailing it to him. carelessly leave your name on a note inside. when he comes around to ask, say they belong to notcharlotte and it was all a big joke.
oh yeah, dont forget to film it all and send me a copy. thats must-see TV!! :]
johnny, I know tons of nice guys who make the first move. I think sometimes guys just make excuses to not ask girls out because they're afraid.
Johnny, I think you just want to see my knickers!
tsk tsk.
With shy guys...sometimes YOU have to make the first move. And believe it or not...they actually like that. Takes the pressure and anxiety of rejection off of them. Go for it!
As a shy guy myself, it rocks when the girl makes the first move. But Clemmy's right in that if I see it's there and want to enough, I'll suck it up and make the first move myself. But it's not usually a throw caution to the wind kind of thing.
At the risk of being self-serving, I totally sign off on what Johnny said about nice guys being good in bed. I think it's because they're not just out for themselves. If you're not getting anything out of it, I'm not getting anything out of it. Team player. :)
NotCharlotte - Oh, boys will be there, or I won't be. I'm even bringing one just to ensure this is the case ; )
Johnny - Your comments always bring a smile to my face.
There's no "i" in sex.
Hahahahha....I crack myself up!
I say do it. The other types haven't worked, so let's move on!
Go for the off guy and let him surprise you!
Worse comes to worse, and you can write it of as experience! :)
It's not about whether he's perfect, it's about whether he's perfcet for you. Enjoy!
ooh the shy guy. i've tried that one out. it works out pretty well seeing as how i'm bold. you just have to careful that you're not too bold...shy guys scare easily!:)
