Dreamy McDreamerson

Well, no word yet from our possible lurker yet, but as promised, this party is SO not stopping!

I had a dream about my ex-boyfriend* the other night. Parts of it were a bit futuristic and very 12 Monkeys**, but I guess the parts that mattered were my interactions with him...or lack thereof. In the dream I ran into him and ended up going back to his place with what I guess were "intentions." Once we got there though he started playing video games and was ignoring me. (Go figure!) Then, very unlike me, I laid on his bed in hopes that he would see me there and finally understand the intentions that brought me there. It was very clear in the dream that I wanted to makeout with him. And the ironic part*** was that back in the day, I think he tried everything he could to try to get me ON a bed and I always found a reason not to or to have to leave. (You can see why he's an ex, right?) So I'm just dumbfounded in the dream, wondering how he can ignore the hott*** girl on his bed while he plays...video games. It wasn't even Halo which I could maybe understand. If it were Halo I wouldn't be on the bed, I would be next to him killing his XBox ass with a torpedo gun or something...

Hmm, I digress...

So do you think there is something more to my dream? It can't be about the ex-bf, I know it's not about that. Thoughts otherwise, though?

*The easiest way to describe him.
**OMG, Brad Pitt! HOT!
***"Don't you think?"~Alanis
***Do not argue, it was a dream!

I am so terrible at the dream analysis thing. But I do often dream about ex's- ones that I wouldn't normally even think about. So when you figure out what it means, let me know.

Maybe it means you're tired of waiting for someone to notice how hot you are. ; )

Ashburnite- Yeah, usually my dreams are more reality-like.

NotMiranda- Haha, maybe. Interesting analysis.

HALO IS TEH SUXX0RZ!!111!!

Or something. Dreams are one the best things about waking up. Other than the whole new day, new possiblities thing.

One of my recent trips through the dream world is detailed here.

sorry, chuckle's incomprehensible comment distracted me...i forgot what i was about to say.

oh, um, just that you're not gettin' any on a regular basis (i'm assuming, as far as i can remember about what you've been writing recently), and now a part of you wants to be desired like your ex desired you?

you get my gist, right?

I find it fascinating who that people are that show up in your dreams. People you haven't talked to in 10 years. Or when you know the person, and address them as who they are, but they look completely different in the dream. Or you have makeout dreams about people you have NO desire to make out with in real life.

Anyway, you said you've been very introspective lately. Has any of that been questioning your desirability? (That's always self esteem issue #1 for me). Maybe that guy showed up because his defining characteristic was his contsant desire for you, so if even he didn't have it, that means you're really worried.

That was a little out there. The Halo comment was just a little lame leet speak. Ahem, l337 5p33k. I think that stuff is only useful for comedy, but there you have it.

Anyway, dreams are weird. In my job, I hear about dream interpretation and the concensus among my colleagues is that it is largely bunk. They are a lot of fun, though and just because some sciencey people think there is no meaning to be gleaned from dreams doesn't mean that you and I and everyone else can't find meaning in dreams.

i wish i had an answer for you. i've been dreaming about snakes lately, apparently you dream about them when you are starting a new chapter in your life, hence i'm getting married in 33 days...

as tacky as it sounds, google it...

Dreaming about snakes 'eh?? You know what Freud would say, don't you? :-)

When I dream of an ex (given I can still stand them), I have them on my mind for the next several days after that. If it's an ex that I can't stand, then I consider it a nightmare.

I also had a dream about my ex the other night. And this boy that I used to have a mad "safe" crush on...

Sometimes I secretly love dreams....

Pookalu- Yeah, maybe.

Senor Beavis- No question of own self, just other's problems with realizations;)

Chuckles- Haha, dork. Just kidding!

Style Girl- Mmmm google, my BFF

Hagrin- Yeah

Jordan- Haha! I definitely haven't had him on my mind.

Kellie- I love them, too!

you know what always frustrates me about dreams..is that the majority of the scientific community thinks they're bunk. this is particularly frustrating, because they something our minds conjured up..nontheless...i side with the camp that say they are our subconscious revealing something about our true selves.

on a side note, i have really cracked out dreams...that also frequently star ex's and an odd assortment of people from my past.

Dreaming of snakes? Havd had many, many chapters in my life thus far and never once dreamt of snakes. That I recall. And I recall a whole lotta dreaming.
