Dating Girl Scout

I'm not talking about an ode to dating purity or anything. What I'm talking about is needing to take up the creed of "always be prepared". I saw him again tonight and found myself caught without some of my key ingredients. Could I really speak to him without any kind of mint or gum to freshen my breath? Why was I lazy this morning and choose to put my hair in a ponytail and forego the makeup? If I had taken an extra five minutes this morning to up my game, I would have been a lot more confident. Luckily, I dipped into the confidence reserves and did what any Not girl would do. I glossed up the lips, shook out the hair and made sure to smile and say hi. I was rewarded with a wink and a head nod.*

So, what's the word Not girls and boys? Always be prepared.

*I consider this a definite positive since I was just walking by as I got off the bus. It's also the first time I've given him any kind of sign since we started running into each other. Hello...remember me? Shy girl?

it's murphy's law. on days you look like crap, you meet a cute guy. i tell myself that i should make it a point to look cute everyday even if i don't have plans to head out for the night. but yeah sometimes i'm lazy haha!

Oh OF COURSE this always happens. I can remember wearing a complete nightmare of an outfit to go get my car fixed one Saturday morning. And who should be working but a totally foxy car mechanic. Natch.

this reminds me of the other night, when betty on the beach demonstrated the elle thing -- you know, reese witherspoon in legally blond. what's it called? the snapback?

one time I did that.. I was looking rather plain'ish... didn't do a thing to make it any better, who the hell cared, I was going to get stuff to wash the car.. just RUN IN I told myself... so I saw "him" at Target one time.. ran to another aisle.. took my hair down, put on some lipstick.. played with my bra to make the girls a little nicer... and wham.. he was standing in the aisle watching this from behind... (he saw me and followed me over in his peripheral vision to say hello)... the look on my face when I saw he was standing there.. priceless.

Remember, boys are just as afraid of you as you are of them. :)

He was probably all worried about saying something cool only to come out with "Hey. W'sup?"
