I read it each month cover to cover, noting the gowns and ideas I like, and then forward it along to my sister. I'm not quite to Monica Gellar levels of having a notebook of Wedding Ideas 1-5 but my sister and I always end up playing The Wedding Game on long car rides. It's fun! Nothing wakes up a tired car like describing bridesmaid dresses and and picking out reception foods. It's great because it's like MadLibs but you fill in every blank spot except for the groom's face. (Okay okay, I make substitutes for the time being- Clive Owen, Brad Pitt, Michael Vartan, etc.)
Now, I'm not a crazy girl looking only to get married and making church reservations five years in advance but, I can't help but enjoy talking about things like wedding gowns and rings! And I'm not going to be a Bridezilla when/if the time comes and insist that everything be how it is in my daydreams or anything. Puhlease! Remember that I'm the girl who really wants to get married in a drive-thru in Vegas with my witnesses in the backseat. With that said...let's play!
Month: November!
Bridesmaid dresses: dark red
Ring: platinum emerald cut (my sister has strict instructions to let any future serious boyfriend know that I really really really really like the emerald cut)
Veil: undecided, it's traditional but do I really want to cover my hair and end up with some dent in it? Hmmm
Dress: It would be easier to tell you what I don't want but I've got to say I loved Gwen Stefani's with the pink on the bottom. I bet dark red on it somewhere would look like blood though, huh? Yeah, maybe not a good idea.
Hmmm, what else?

I want tea length and something that wouldn't look overdone worn barefoot and down by the river. ; ) Oh yeah, you're my dj.
What's tea length?
I want a shoulderless long gown with a hellious train! And a veil. And lots of flowers everywhere.
Oh look at what you've started!
i have to admit that the first line stunned me a lil...
you're crazy... then again so am i. i may not read bridal magazines but i always say these lil things bout oh when i get married i want this and that or don't want this and that. i want a smallish outdoor wedding with a gazebo thing. in fact i once fell in love with some location in LA on a cliff of some sorts overlooking the ocean. and i think bout getting married in vegas with just me, him and our parents. i know what i want. i just don't know who the guy is.
What kind of flowers? What is shoulderless? Are there sleeves?
I do know my reception/party is going to be crazy! And there is going to be a sushi bar. And a TON of champagne. Oh and I know my sister is my maid of honor-definitely.
when i started writing that comment, i was first. but it got so long that now i'm placed third haha!
I consider Bride to be kind of like reading a fashion magazine. It's a magazine full of gorgeous dresses and travel tips. It's great! Like I said, I'm not crazy about it. It's fun!
You're not crazy...every girl has thought about it at least once...
I don't have specifics nailed down like you, however I will admit that I've paged through Bride once or twice wondering if I'll end up a spinster...
Haha, I'm really not crazy about this. It's just a cute game my sister and I play:) Besides, we've all agreed she's getting married before I do anyway.
Yeah, fall is the way to go!
Brilliant! Take a look at th ewedding dresses from the 80's and then thank your lucky stars that wasn't you....
OMG! I'm so glad I'm not the only person that does this!
When I was home last I told my mom how I'd planned out some of the seating arrangements and I thought she was going to commit me on the spot.
Little tip here: never let a potential mate know that you play The Wedding Game, until you are actually planning a wedding with him for real.
No worries, Coatman, I know the rules. Really though, my wedding game is all about fashion:)
I'm signed up for theknot.com already and I'm not engaged yet...
