Pleasing to the eye

I'm in the mood to cause trouble this morning or, at the very least, stir up an interesting conversation. What goes better with mornings and trouble than porn? I don't usually have porn on the brain and don't consider myself an aficionado (even a regular viewer). It's just that it seems like so many of my friends* are all about the "perfect" porn these days. NotCharlotte has been on this hunt for "indie" porn she read about recently and even downloaded some classic German porn to check out. She has been all about the arty stuff and claims the German piece had even received critical acclaim. NotSamantha seems to have a predilection for anime porn (not judging) and probably many others I'm unaware of. Of the Nots, she has taken the most active interest in visual stimulation. Did you know she discovered a Netflix-type place that just does porn?! Who knew! My own porn experience has been fairly limited. I've only seen a couple of what I would call "hard core" (the stuff someone has to rent and that shows everything). Other than that, my only other run-in with porn is catching the occasional late night offering on Cinemax. I don't really consider myself a porn kind of girl. I just don't need it. However, I have been curious about all the crap I constantly hear on how porn needs to be done differently for women. Women need an more of a plot line. Women need to emotionally connect with the characters. Is this crap actually true? Maybe I don't get to answer since I don't consider myself a "porn" girl, but when I think of porn and the select times I've watched it, isn't the whole point of even viewing it to get off? Are there women out there who really get into the plot? Maybe I need to see "good" porn to get this, but anything I've caught that appears to be making an attempt at an actual story looks even more ridiculous. It's like the worst kind of B movie. I would compare myself to a guy, just looking for the visual, but I don't think that's fair assessment given that I'm not really a "porn" girl.

I’d say that I need more than the typical porn, which is why I look around for steamy films instead most of the time. I’ve found a great source is foreign films on Netflix or under the genre “steamy romances” is what I think it is called. Right now we have a movie at home Sex and Lucia, which looks pretty hot.

Plot? Plot?? Who gets into a plot?

I buy the "Best of" videos, like "Best of Jenna Jameson" etc. Then you get the scenes from a bunch of movies, sans stupid plotline. Besides, what kind of plotline involves sex in an body shop or the mall parking lot?

Well, I think there are 2 kinds of porn:
1) The kind that is there to stimulate, turn on, get in the mood, get involved in the fantasy, and all worked up for an eventual sexual encounter. This is the kind of porn that some guys consider "foreplay".

2) The kind that just gets down to business. You almost want to turn off the sound on this porn, except you can't because it's like a trainwreck. This is the kind of porn that guys like, which like us, just gets down to business. I don't know any guy that's ever watched an entire porn movie -- the moment is usually over waaaay before the movie is.

I think I'm with Robin on this one. A "steamy romance" sounds more like something I'd watch than a normal porn. With a plot they are just funny and without a plot it's just like, "huh?"

But block porn, that's awesome;)

Wow...I agree with everyone. If I'm going for SingleGuy's "gettin' in the mood" then I'm going to opt for something like Robin was discussing. Otherwise, Velvet, I think you have the right idea.

Gee.
I'm on the fence.
To me one of the most important parts is the seduction, hardly any porn show s that.

Instead it's Wham Bam Thank You Ma'am.

Which as any red blooded man will tell you does the job.

Having a little variety never hurts either.

At the moment though, I'm trying to avoid porn.

Why?

It's spring and my libido is starting to get out of hand....
But hey thats just me.

Ah, porn! *key cheesy porn music*

Like NotMiranda mentioned I'm into anime porn or hentai for those in the anime world. I like it, but I also like what I'll call pretty porn, where all of the characters are so obviously plastic that you know that no body part is real. I've been growing my collection (complete with toys) and I have to agree with Velvet on this one,

Plot what plot (PWP) is one of my faves to get, four hours of getting to the nitty gritty, no need to build up with insipid story lines or really bad dialogue or double entendres that don't hit the mark.

As for single guy, well I like the first, but if I'm at that point with my guy then I'm not going to be watching for long and its pretty pointless...for me that's usually just taken a really hot scene from a movie...and I'm off, of at least my clothing is..

i, apparently, like 'guy' porn. the story lines and bad acting distract me and turn me off. just get down to business already!
