...and then we grew bold

Instead of growing older every year, I seem to grow bolder. I'm bolder in the way I walk, the way I talk, even the way I present myself. Don't get me wrong...I still have plenty of meek, soft parts. That's the part of me that has trouble meeting the eye of a guy I fancy and break out in cold sweats around hot guys (you think I jest). This year, however, I'm embracing bold in several new areas of life. Remember the Procedural Dating Guide? I'm filling in a sample dossier and getting ready to put it to work. I'm not a girl to play exactly by the rules, however, and am going to double up on my tactics. There is this guy I want to get to know a little better at my part-time job, but we're both a little shy. I'm dusting off my spy glasses and going covert for this one. Specifically, I'm going to leave the sweetest notecard in his jacket pocket on Saturday. The note will be from his secret admirer and include an anonymous email address for him to write me on. I just want a chance to get to know him a little better and always love being secretive. What do you think? Are secret admirers too over?

I'm with Tommy. It's like adding foreplay to asking someone out. Kind of. Anyway I think it's a great idea.

I'm not sure I'm on the same side of this as these 2. I'm sure most guys wouldn't mind being obviously pursued once in a while, instead of doing the pursuing... but I personally would also like to know who's doing the pursuing.

Tommy, just send me an address ; )

I-66: Knowing would be nice, but I want to cheat the system and get to know him a little first and even see if it's worth it to reveal myself. I dunno.

I think it's a perfect idea. I think I'm going to steal it, actually... ;-)

I am unsure of how I would react. Part of me would be so ecstatic to have a secret admirerer but part of me would be suspicious. However, I would try to remind myself that adults won't (or shouldn't) joke about things like that. (Like, it would a middle school type of prank to trick someone into thinkiing they have a secret admirerer....I would hope adults wouldn't do that.) But you should do it...why not?

That is very cool. A little mystery never hurt any one's chance at love. I'd be just careful those you tell in the "real world". It would really suck if someone showed him your hand before you were ready to.

Great line, Tommy. Seeing as it IS Tuesday today, I shudder at the thought.
